The airborne sound insulation performance requirements of internal partitions are closely linked to intrusive noise criteria. However, another very important factor is “privacy”, that is, the extent to which conversations and activities in one area are audible in an adjacent area. The recommended privacy factor for Audiology rooms is 80, where 75-80 is audible but not intelligible and >80 is inaudible. HSE specialists can assist in all aspects of room design and location in order to achieve maximum performance.
